Tropical, Chic & Modern – those were some of the ways that Kaycee & Dave described their dream wedding. They wanted it to feel full and lush with an elegant palette of black, white, & tropical greenery. Mid-May in Chicago doesn’t usually cue a tropical vibe, but we knew we could make it happen. We love an opportunity to be creative and dramatic. Kaycee & Dave’s wedding was one of those opportunities.

Kaycee’s dress was so breathtakingly elegant, it was perfect for an over-the-arm pageant bouquet full of striking white calla lilies, white Phalaenopsis orchids, and tropical greenery. Her bouquet was gently tied with billowing hand-dyed silk ribbon. Dave’s boutonniere was equally elegant with a white calla lily and unique greenery.

The ceremony was held in the historic & charming Century Memorial Chapel at Naper Settlement, followed by an elegant reception at Elements at Water Street. We added tropical touches to the ceremony with large bird of paradise trees and bunches of calla lilies and greenery hanging from pews. Guests entering the reception were greeted with layers upon layers of lush, tropical greenery touched with accents of white flowers.

We used several varieties of palm fronds, monstera leaves, fatsia leaves, ti leaves, ferns, dieffenbachia leaves, variegated geranium leaves, spiral eucalyptus, anthurium, banksia, protea, and other tropical flora to create the layered greenery effect. Flower blooms were kept to a minimum and were all white – orchids, calla lilies, tulips, and garden roses.

Congratulations, Kaycee & Dave! We wish you a lifetime of happiness together! Thank you for asking Andrew’s Garden to be part of your special day!
